Chris Firestone, PhDChris Firestone, PhD

Philosophy Department Chair, Trinity International University

Dr. Chris Firestone is a Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Philosophy Department at Trinity International University, where he has taught philosophy for the past 15 years. He has a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, an MA for Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a BS and a BA from the University of Illinois. His expertise is in Kant studies, with particular reference to Kant's philosophy of religion and the interface of Kant's philosophy with Christian theology. His most recent books include The Persistence of the Sacred in Modern Thought (Notre Dame, 2013) and Kant and Theology at the Boundaries of Reason (Ashgate, 2009). He is a regular member of the EPS, AAR, and APA. He is also Chairman of the Elder Board at North Suburban Evangelical Free Church in Deerfield, IL, where he has been a regular attender and member for the past 15 years.
