Michael J. White is Professor of Law in the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and Professor of Philosophy in the history and philosophy of science program, located in the School of Life Sciences, at Arizona State University. He received his baccalaureate degree from Arizona State University in physical anthropology and his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of California at San Diego. He has taught philosophy for forty years, has authored four books and over sixty scholarly articles and book chapters. An acknowledged expert in ancient philosophy, political philosophy, and areas of formal logic, White also has both research and teaching interests in jurisprudence and its history, the foundations and history of mathematics (particularly nonstandard analysis), and the history and philosophy of science from Greek antiquity to the eighteenth century.
