The Self: The Johns Hopkins University Philosophy Graduate Conference

October 13 - 14, 2017
Department of Philosophy, Johns Hopkins University
Baltimore, United States

Personal identity ideas are among the most important questions asked in life. Who were we? Who are we? Who are we becoming? This conference provides special consideration for papers in the analytic tradition and asks questions about how to define self, including what it takes to be a self? What are the identity conditions of selfhood? Does the self remain constant throughout changes, or do certain experiences transform selves? Dorit Bar-On from the University of Connecticut will be the keynote speaker for this graduate conference.
