Arc Colloquium: Free Will, Language and Neurosciences

August 30 - 31, 2017
Institut Superieur de Philosophie, Universite catholique de Louvain

How might neuroscience contribute to traditional philosophical debates on free will? This colloquium wrestles with volition, the role of language, moral responsibility, mental states, and causation. Plenary speakers will be Alfred Mele (Florida State University), Eddy Nahmias (Georgia State University), and Peter Ulrich Tse (Dartmouth). Part of a five-year ARC research project entitled "Free Will and Causality," the best papers from the colloquium will be planned for publication in 2018.
